IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING FREE/REDUCED MEAL PROGRAM & CONGRESSIONAL COVID-19 RELIEF

Parents/Guardians are strongly encouraged to apply for the Free or Reduced Meal Programs, if they have not already been approved for the current school year.  Covid-19 relief packages recently passed by the United States Congress contain numerous benefits for families financially impacted by the pandemic.  Some of these benefits are available to students who are eligible for Free or Reduced-Priced Meal Programs at their schools. If you believe your school-aged child(ren) may qualify, and have not already applied and been approved (you would have received a letter from our district with your application determination), we, again, encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

Applications are all processed online - please see the instructions directly below, labeled "Applying for Free or Reduced Meals". The completed and submitted application will be processed as quickly as possible, and it will then be determined if your child(ren) is approved for Free or Reduced Meals, or does not qualify for either program (Full Pay for meals).  Please be aware that applying for the Free or Reduced-Meals Programs will not impact meals that your child(ren) are currently receiving through their school.

Another note, students qualifying and participating in the Free or Reduced Meal Programs may be able to request fee waivers for certain testing, such as SAT's and AP Exams, which can be requested through their school counselor.  Also, if the student is approved for the current school year, their approval status carries into the first 30 school days of the next school year.

NOTE P-EBT CARDS/PROGRAM (PANDEMIC ELECTRONIC BENEFIT TRANSFER) ISSUES & QUESTIONS

While the Bensalem Township School District processes and administers the Free or Reduced Meals Programs for the meals served at our schools, we do NOT process, issue, nor maintain the funds/cards, nor can we assist with any issues with the cards or program.  Any questions or concerns with the P-EBT program, please contact the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS).

For questions regarding the Free or Reduced Meal Programs with Bensalem Township School District, please contact the Food Services Department at (215) 750-2800, ext. 4080.
