Bensalem High School Marine Corps Instructor Named Teacher of the Year

This recognition is awarded to the best instructors from every type of school/program in the Marine Corps. There are approximately 500 Marine Corps JROTC instructors in the country so this is a tremendous accomplishment.

Master Sergeant Worthen will be honored at a dinner and banquet on August 7th in Arlington, VA. The ceremony will bring together Marines and leaders from all over the world with the Commanding General of Training and Education Command, Lieutenant General Ben Watson presiding.

Representing Bensalem Township School District at the dinner and banquet will be District Superintendent, Dr. Sam Lee and Bensalem High School Senior Marine Instructor, Colonel David Mills (USMC - Ret).

“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Colonel David Mills, Mr. Geoff Per, and Mrs. Molly Mangan for their invaluable support and persuasive writing in the nomination process. This achievement would not have been possible without your encouragement, guidance, and most importantly, the support you have shown to us in JROTC,” said Worthen.

Congratulations Master Sergeant Worthen on this well-deserved honor!
