According to IXL, the level of student and teacher engagement and results at Benjamin Rush Elementary placed the school among the very top of IXL-using schools in Pennsylvania. IXL noted that only a select number of schools across the Commonwealth receive this recognition, making the honor a significant accomplishment for the Rush Elementary School community in Bensalem.
To celebrate the achievement, IXL Educational Sales Consultant Dr. Meaghan Bullock visited Rush Elementary on Tuesday, September 22, to personally recognize students, teachers, and school leaders. During a special schoolwide celebration, IXL presented Rush with an exclusive recognition banner to proudly display at the school, making this a truly special recognition and a wonderful mark of distinction.
Rush Principal Mrs. Joan Richey brought students in grades 2-6 together for the celebration, providing an opportunity not only to recognize their achievement but also to celebrate the teachers whose dedication, instruction, and encouragement contributed to the school's success.
“This recognition belongs to our Rush students and the incredible educators who challenge, encourage, and believe in them every day,” said Dr. Victoria Velazquez, BTSD Interim Superintendent. “What makes this accomplishment especially meaningful is that it reflects both student engagement and the commitment of our teachers. Our students demonstrated what they can achieve when they are engaged in their learning, supported by outstanding educators, and encouraged to keep growing by their teachers and principal. We could not be prouder of our Rush Roadrunners.”
IXL representatives praised the work taking place at Rush, noting that the school's students and teachers stood out not simply within the local area, but across Pennsylvania. The recognition banner is intended to serve as a lasting symbol of their collective accomplishment and the effort that made it possible.
