Annual Pesticide Notification

 

When necessary, the Bensalem Township School District will need to use pesticides or herbicides to control pests or plants/weeds.  Bensalem Township School District, through its Facilities Department, is required to post the appropriate signage as per Act 36 of 2002.  Said signage must be posted at least 72 hours prior to any non-emergency pesticide application and remain in place for at least 48 hours following the application.  For emergency pesticide applications, this sign must be posted at the time of the application and remain in place for at least 48 hours from the conclusion of the application.  The signage can only be removed by authorized Bensalem Township School District personnel.  Every effort will be made to conduct and complete the pesticide application or herbicide application when children will not be in the building for at least 12 hours.
