Meet Dr. Lee
Dr. Samuel Lee is Bensalem's Superintendent!
Dr. Lee joined the Bensalem Township School District (BTSD) on July 6, 2015. He came to Bensalem from Bristol Township School District where he served as Superintendent for 5 years. Previously, he held various roles including Principal, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Special Services and Director of Business/Special Projects in the Gloucester County Special Services School District and Gloucester County Vocational Technical District.

Dr. Lee earned his Interdisciplinary Doctor of Education for Educational Leaders, a Master’s in Educational Administration and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History all from Saint Joseph’s University.
BTSD’s elementary schools have been recognized by US News and World Reports as “among the best in PA” along with Bensalem High School which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. According to Niche, Bensalem is the 2nd most diverse school district in Pennsylvania.
Bensalem Township School District has been recognized as an American Association of School Administrators Demonstration District, Best Communities for Music Education, A District of Distinction by District Administration Magazine, Marine Corps Junior ROTC Naval Honor School, PA Department of Education recognition for Multi -Tiered System of Student Supports.
Dr. Lee has numerous affiliations including: Bensalem Education Foundation Board member; Bensalem Rotary; Lower Bucks Hospital Board of Trustees; PA Association of School Administrators Board of Governors; Vice President, PA Local Government Investment Trust; Bucks County Technical HS Superintendent of Record (2011-13 and 2019-21). He is a member of the Suburban Superintendent's Study Council; University of Pennsylvania Superintendent's Study Council; American Association of School Administrators; and Bucks County Superintendent’s Advisory Council.
Dr. Lee is an Adjunct Professor at Gwynedd Mercy University and a graduate school program mentor and advisor at Holy Family University, High Point University, Penn West University, and Delaware Valley University.
He serves as President and coach at Lighthouse Soccer Club. He was inducted into the Southeastern PA Soccer Hall of Fame; Saint Joseph’s University Soccer Hall of Fame; and was named the 2007 Liberty Mutual PA Youth Soccer Coach of the year.

Dr. Lee and his wife Anne are the proud parents of 7 children, 5 daughters, 2 sons, and 2 granddaughters. They enjoy spending time with each other and participating in and watching sports.
