Healthy Classroom Snacks

Dear Valley Family,

Parents are encouraged to send healthy snacks to school for birthday celebrations and classroom parties. Please keep in mind that some children in your child's class may have peanut or tree nut allergies when selecting your food items to send to school. A list is also provided below for non food items as well.   Here is a list of food recommendations:

  • Pretzels
  • Granola Bars
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Popcorn (no butter, no salt)
  • 100 calorie snack bags
  • Jello
  • Yogurt
  • Cereal Bars
  • Raisins
  • Trail Mix
  • Nutri-grain Bars
  • Vegetables and Low Fat Dip

If you’d like to send in a special item to help celebrate your child’s birthday, the non food options are endless! Here are a few ideas:

  • Stickers
  • Pencils or pens
  • Markers, colorful erasers
  • Notepads
  • Books (you can often order a $1 book from Scholastic, which also benefits the school)
  • Bookmarks
  • Trinkets (bouncy balls, matchbox cars, balloons, necklaces.

Thanks in advance for your support and cooperation.
