This form will cover all medical physical requirements for the upcoming school year. A great opportunity for students to receive additional support in completing homework, studying for assessments, or needing a quiet place with access to technology to complete school work.
Broad Street Run Club
Mid February - beginning of May
Tuesday and Thursday after school from MId February until the beginning of May.
Saturday mornings March - May at BHS - 9 am
A running club where students learn how to safely and effectively train for the largest 10 mile race in America - the Broad Street Run!!
Builders Club is the middle school equivalent of the Key Club or K Club, which is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. Builders Club participates in community and school service projects to spread compassion and to help out those where we live. Anyone is welcome to join Builders Club and we welcome all suggestions for projects in the future.

A dance team where the students collaborate to create their own choreography and perform a dance for assemblies and both the boys and girls shafer vs snyder basketball games

Students interested in playing flag football, having fun, and staying active. No physical is required, only a signed parent permission slip.
Wildlife/Garden Club/ Arctic Club
Most Tuesdays-we announce when NOT having it.
This club supports wildlife and the garden in the back of school. Students get the opportunity to perform community service within the school, as all food is donated and to file for a $5,000 grant to support their organizations of choice. In addition, we sell pretzels on Wed. to raise money for community organizations.

Homeroom - Sign up for Anchor and Crew Slots
Lights! Camera! Action! Do you like public speaking or using technology? Then Sunny Side Up may be the perfect thing for your middle school plate. Every morning, using state-of-the-art equipment, Shafer’s morning announcements are streamed live from our very own broadcasting studio. Auditions are held each fall for approximately 12 anchor slots and 8 crew members. Audition and take a bite of this “egg”cellent opportunity.

Every other Wednesday during Homeroom in Library
Students are split into teams and required to read a minimum of 5 books from the list of 45 books. Reading is done on their own time. Teams meet every other week to discuss books and practice competition questions. They attend a county wide competition held at Snyder MS.

Everyday after school till 5:20
Student athletes looking to play competitive volleyball. The team will play against other middle schools in the area.
September to June
The first and third Tuesday of the month after school in Room 207.
Members will write and upload documents into the newspaper and create an interactive experience for all members of Shafer. The goal is to keep the school informed and encourage a community experience.
Possible 2nd date in February
Bear Creek Mountain
Students have the opportunity to go tubing, skiing, or snowboarding. If they’ve never been before, lessons are required.
