Welcome to Belmont Hills Elementary School, "where education has no boundaries!"

Belmont Hills Elementary School is located in beautiful Bensalem Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. We celebrate and educate students in grades K-6.

Our goal is to partner with parents and the community to educate the "whole child" in order to raise happy, healthy, educated students who make good choices! In order to support this endeavor, we believe that grit, self control, zest, social intelligence, gratitude, optimism and curiosity will predict life satisfaction and high expectations. These  7 core character traits will help to develop safety, responsibility and respect.

The Whole Child Initiative promotes physical activity, healthy eating choices, interest in the fine arts and making good decisions. We are a Bully-Free school. We teach and reward students for making good choices via our School Wide Positive Behavior (safety, responsibility, respect) and Second Step programs.

Our core reading program for students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade is Fundations and Units of Study. The focus is to prepare students for the future. This research based program is aligned to the Common Core Standards in order to reach high standards of literacy.

In grades 3-6, our teachers engage students in a balanced approach to reading, writing, language usage, listening and speaking. We teach and learn via Units of Study reading and writing workshop. When we read, we predict, compare, question, analyze, summarize and connect our thoughts to writing and speaking.

Our other core instructional programs are Foss (Science), Science Fusion, Stem, My Math, Glencoe Mathematics, My World Social Studies.

Red and White Day is our school pride day celebrated on the last Friday of each month. On Red and White Day, the school will take a walk around the neighborhood. Students will be asked to bring a healthy snack to school. Soft pretzels will be sold for $1.00 per pretzel. All of the schools' staff and students will wear Red and White clothing or school logo wear.

Professional Learning Communities (teaching staff) meet weekly to develop long and short range goals in the area of mathematics and literacy. Teachers evaluate and modify instruction, curriculum and assessment for student success.

Finally, our goal to partner with parents is key to educating your children. Join our Parent Teacher Group. If you would like to volunteer or contribute and share your experiences, please contact your child's teacher or me.
